What Do I Take to the Hospital?

So this post is going to be short, sweet, and light on pictures 😂.
We took everything we could have thought about taking to the hospital. And you don't need to. Here is what we took, and USED!

1. Really long charger cord for your phone. The beds are like 5 feet off of the wall. Plus you want to be able to use your phone while it charges since you're basically away for 72 hours. THIS is the one we bought. Works great!

2. Robes. I took two, and I wore two. I am so glad I did! I labored sans meds for a LONG time (like 27 hours long). While I labored, we walked the halls. I was able to wear a robe for some modesty, warmth, and comfort. This is similar to the one I wore. I was also ready to toss it incase it got gross.

For after L&D, I got a cute robe to wear in the hospital. This made it easy to wear a nursing tank under it, and be able to cover up for company/warmth. It made me feel a little bit more put together and less like an exhausted hot mess. This is similar to the one I wore.

3. Your own pillow. This was seriously the best. I am a picky sleeper, and my pillow was a life saver. If you're searching for a new pillow, check THIS one out. It is seriously THE BEST!

4. A water bottle. We filled this up and used it constantly. Just take one you have at home, or check this one out

5. Your own shampoo/conditioner/body wash. Take whatever you have at home. The hospital stuff kinda stinks.

6. Slippers- I used these A LOT, and then threw them away when we left. Because hospital germs.

What we did not use:
  • Bluetooth speaker
  • Nursing pillow
  • A whole bunch of clothes
  • Baby clothes or blankets- we just used one going home outfit

That's it! Those are the things we used the most, and least! What did you take that you were glad?!

  1. While most hospitals support this effort they do not provide gowns that function properly during those first breastfeeding moments. disposable gowns

  2. Wow! Such an amazing and helpful post this is. I really really love it. It's so good and so awesome. I am just amazed. I hope that you continue to do your work like this in the future also.

  3. I am a regular reader of your blog, wonderful content with proper examples. Thank you.
